Illustrator Portraits
In this unit we are going to learn how to make portraits using Adobe Illustrator. We will all start by doing the same portrait tutorial to learn the process, then we will practice by making a portrait of ourselves using a personal photo that we like.
Part 1 - The Portrait Tutorial
Click on the tutorial image below. Download the source files. Watch the tutorial video (it goes a bit fast so please feel free to pause and rewind as you need). Complete each section of the tutorial. Once you have completed the final image, upload it to your portfolio by creating a new page called UNIT 5. Click the image below to get started
Part 2 - The Personal Portrait
For this next part you will need a portrait photo of yourself to work from. If you don't have one available already, get a friend to take your portrait before you begin. Ideally you should take it against a white or light coloured background. Don't worry too much about your appearance as you can adjust and tweak things in Illustrator. We just need the portrait to trace our Illustrator design from. See my sample finished image below for an idea of what your design could look like.

When you have completed your personal vector portrait, please upload it to your Unit 5 page on your portfolio.
