My piece is a book that represents school. The book is covered with words which represent all the things that education can bring in life. To make my piece I took a hardcover book that no one wanted and made a black paper cover. When you look at the book, and see the words printed on top, you realize those are things children without education will probably never have in life. When people think of school, they usually think of books, pencils and paper. I wanted people to be able to understand my piece and the importance of education, as well as all the things that you might not be able to have in life if you did not have an education.

I chose this subject because education is the foundation for everything. If you have a society that is not educated, that society cannot advance with a high quality of life, happiness or health. Everything is unlocked with the power of education. There are still tens of millions of kids around the world who don't get an education. Many of these children cannot succeed in having a healthy, happy, full life. There are about 70 million kids around the world who don’t get an education, there are 74 million kids that live in the United States. Imagine all the newborns, the young children, and all the teens that you see in the U.S never getting an education. That is what it is like worldwide.

I want people to know how seriously important this issue is. It’s not just about an education, it’s about having a quality education with information about things that will help everyone live better lives.
