Is This Justice?

My piece is a painting that connects to the death penalty. I used canvas and acrylic paint to create it.

As of July 1, 2017, there were 2,817 people waiting on death row. Within the US, 33 states (this includes the U.S. Government, and the U.S. Military) allow the death penalty, and 20 states (including District of Columbia) do not allow the death penalty. Of 2,817 people, 1,196 are White (42.46%), and 1,168 are Black (41.46%).

With my piece, I am trying to say that it is wrong to kill people, and that there should be another solution to this problem. I chose this right because I think that everybody should have the right to live.
