Racial Equality
Lucas
This piece is about people who are being discriminated against because of their race or skin color. I made on a canvas with brown and white flesh colored acrylic paint. This piece is meant to represent racial equality. I want to make people know that this is an issue all over the world, and to know that they should treat people equally and. It’s important to understand that people have been abused and killed for trying to fight for their rights.
I chose to focus on discrimination because I was shocked by the police brutality issue because it was so violent. I couldn’t believe that black people were being hit with batons by policemen. People get treated badly all over the world. Racial profiling is “a discriminatory targeting of individuals for suspicion of crime based on race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin.” I feel that this issue should not be ignored.
Racism is a big problem that is occur in workplaces, being bullied at school for how you look, and public places that should be noticed by other people. This could lead to things like having aggression or depression, anxiety, fear or stress. My piece explains about putting a stop to racism, and that everybody should be equal.
