Chemistry Long-Term Learning Target: I can apply my understanding of the structure and properties of matter by professionally demonstrating a chemical reaction and explaining how it occurs verbally, visually and in writing.
Little Molas Lake Field Trip Reflection: During the first week of school we had a field trip to Little Molas lake. We went to kick off our science adventure for this year. My class began in a meadow just a little bit to the right to the lake. This was for a Humanities project so that's a reflection for another time. We came to the lake to test its water quality but the day before we made a hypothesis, mine was; The water quality in Little Molas lake can support specific life forms because the Ph levels will be between 5 and 7. After testing we discovered that the water quality was 7.5! Meaning life can be supported and the lake can be used for recreation! Our water quality test changed my perspective by showing me that science is all around you. It's important for your life as well as every other kind. The water quality decides whether or not fish and other aquatic life can live, which helps you as well. If water wasn’t healthy we wouldn’t be able to fish either for recreation or food. Some water quality is toxic to humans either to acidic or alkaline making activities like rafting and swimming impossible. So this shows that we have to look out for water quality so we can continue to live and enjoy our water bodies. During this project we used the scientific method to create and test hypotheses. I find the creation of hypotheses difficult because I don’t always recognize better ways to word them. On the contrary though I enjoy the experiment because it keeps me curious and active. I plan on building my scientific skills by asking more questions, being more curious, and thinking outside the box by saying ‘is there more here?’.
Chemistry Quiz 1 Reflection: This Quiz was placed upon us to test our knowledge of atoms and elements. We were given questions about the structure of an atom and what different numbers meant on the periodic table and the elements. I achieved a Meets on this quiz due to the fact that I got every question correct. For future quizzes I want to review my knowledge on my anchor chart so that I know that I remember everything.
Chemistry Quiz 2 Reflection: In this quiz we went over Ionic and Covalent bonds, Physical and Chemical reactions, and Chemical Equations. I got a 7/8 because one question's answer didn't make sense to me. The question itself made sense but personally I believe that the answer that was correct was wrong. I feel like I've been doing good on my quizzes and there isn't much that I need to improve on.
Chemistry Test: With this being the end of unit test the test consisted of multiple choice questions about different things, chemical reactions, the atom, and conservation of mass. I got an exceeds on the test because I only missed one question, due to my math being unfortunately wrong. My goal for the next science test is to practice my math, as well as review my anchor chart.
Every unit we make an anchor chart documenting almost every day. This is the anchor chart for our Chemistry unit. If you want to see the unit, look at the unit one pager made by the teachers or different anchor charts made by students. I was given a Meets- due to the fact that I didn't have visuals with my slides as well as forgetting to mention a couple of smaller topics. I hope to get a Meets+ to an Exceeds on the next anchor chart. To get this I will continue to use detailed explanations, but make sure to add visuals and do every topic, no matter how small.
This exhibition was many different things, we learned many different types of things ranging from atoms and the elements to types of reactions. it was really fun and engaging and i'm very glad that I got to do this! I was given an Exceeds! My reaction was Solid Water or Sodium Polyacrylate!

Waves Long-Term Learning Target: I can demonstrate my understanding of wave physics by designing and constructing an escape room that incorporates these principles effectively.
Waves Quiz Reflection: This quiz was about waves! Sound waves and light waves where included in this quiz. It covered the anatomy of a wave, and the other lessons including, how waves work, the different kinds, and the ways our brain and body use/perceive these waves. I was given a Meets because I got 8 out of 9 questions correct. I would like to get all questions correct next quiz by utilizing my anchor chart more.
Every unit we make an anchor chart documenting almost every day. This is the anchor chart for our Wave unit. If you want to see the unit, look at the unit one pager made by the teachers or different anchor charts made by students. I was given a Meets because my detail slowly went down as we progressed in the unit. I hope to get a Meets+ to an Exceeds on the next anchor chart. To get this I will continue to use detailed explanations, but make sure to add visuals and do every topic, no matter how small.
This exhibition was really cool! We got to make interactive escape rooms with puzzles relating to our Wave unit! We had a tent and two tables to decorate and add our puzzles to, we also made story lines to make the escape room better! I got an Exceeds for my grade on this exhibition! Next exhibition my goal is to not do too much and to make sure everyone does their equal parts.

Forces and Motion long-Term learning Target:
Forces and Motion Quiz 1 Reflection:
Forces and Motion Quiz 2 Reflection:
Forces and Motion Quiz 3 Reflection:
Rocket Mini-Manual: This mini rocket manual we created (I unfortunately can't get a picture) was about how Newton's 3 laws of Motion apply to rockets when they make the journey into space. When rockets take off they don't push off the ground they use a propellenat to shoot into teh air (just not super fast), the laws of motion are a big part of rocket launches.
Every unit we make an anchor chart documenting almost every day. This is the anchor chart for our Forces & Motion unit. If you want to see the unit, look at the unit one pager made by the teachers or different anchor charts made by students. I was given a because. Since this is our last anchor chart for the entire rest of the school year, I feel I put a good chunk of effort into it. Over the year i'd say that they became more focused on the topics instead of rambling about not as important stuff, since i'm gong to AP Environmental Science in High School I will have an anchor chart set up for my homework. To make the best ones I can next year I plan on doing them exactly when I'm supposed to.
Today was our egg drop! We were given one class period the day before and 20 minutes the day of to make refinements to our contraptions.
