My goal for Respect is to show Respect to self by using more positive self statements.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Respect...
I will try to recognize when I'm saying “I can’t do this” or something like that and stop and I will ask my friends or family for advice on the things I wrote to see what I did great or wrong so that I can fix it and not be as hard on myself.
This is what others will see:
That I will complete my work faster and I will have more fun when doing hard projects.
The difference these actions will make is:
I will have more fun and I won’t struggle/stress about harder projects.
How will I apply this to a specific class?
I will apply this to math because sometimes math can be really hard and it not being my favorite subject doesn't help either, so this goal will help me become more confident in class and outside of school.
My goal for Integrity is to often be a role model for others.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Integrity...
I will support more people and I will help others by giving more constructive feedback instead of just “I don't know.”
This is what others will see:
I will be doing more projects and acting better during presentations.
The difference these actions will make:
I will make better presentations and I will be more supportive.
How will I apply this to a specific class?
I will apply this in social studies by finishing my homework on time, completing annotations really well, and taking initiative in projects.
My goal for Effort is to build confidence and resilience from my strengths and to see failures and challenges as an opportunity for growth.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Effort...
I will look at the other sides of my failures and I will try to be more optimistic.
This is what others will see:
I will improve over time and I will have more confidence while presenting and doing exhibitions.
The difference these actions will make:
I won’t be as hard on myself and I will have more strengths and less challenges.
How will I apply this to a specific class?
I can apply this to science because in science you can make mistakes with your research or an activity that you are doing and you have to start over but if I look at that another way, for example instead of "Great now I have to start over!" I can say "At least I found all this research".
My goal for Refinement is to develop a set of strategies for remaining focused and on task during work time.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Refinement…
I will write some strategies on a sticky note that I will stick on my desk and I will look at the sticky note as much as possible.
This is what others will see:
I will be more on task and I will complete projects faster.
The difference these actions will make:
I won’t have as much homework and my work will turn out better.
How will I apply this to a specific class?
I will apply this to my vocabulary and writing by making my sentences better and more creative, correcting my spelling, and trying new techniques to make my writing better.
What is your def of identity?
My definition of identity is that your identity is who you are, what you like, your strengths and challenges, what makes you unique.
What are aspects of life that creates someones identity?
The aspects of life that create your identity are what activities you like to do, the people you hang out with, your accomplishments and your failures, and much more.
How do you predict that your identity may be affected through your experiences in seventh grade?
During my time in seventh grade I might learn about things that I want to do more than previous interest, I might discover a sport that I like, or I might gain new strengths and challenges.
Ownership
I feel I take ownership when I make mistakes. For example when I was in art, I made the mistake of painting the background green, I feel that I took ownership for my mistake and I helped to fix it. I also made a mistake where I put tape on my group's body poster for an overlay. I drew my overlay too low and I had to rip the tape off. If i wasn't careful I could have ruined my group's poster so I took ownership for my mistake and fixed it as best I could.
Helpfulness
I also feel that I am a helpful group member as well. During the Silk Roads exhibition I feel that I pulled my weight despite me being a traveling cartographer. I helped when we needed to finish the geography poster, the concept map, and the timeline. We were running short on time and we needed to finish it, unfortunately they didn't turn out as well as they could have and I could have helped more.
Respect
For respect, I feel that I can be pretty respectful but sometimes I am not. I have a tendency to try and be the leader and I need to work on that because that means that my group members don’t always get to shine as much. I have had that happen to me and it sucks a lot.
