Retreat to re-form original set (should be rotated 1/2)
Dance one double step counter-clockwise in a circle
Dance one double step counter-clockwise, spiraling in to center of circle
Retreat to re-form original set (should be rotated 1/2, back to original orientation)
Half Hey:
Head dancers (1, 2) cast away from center, using two double steps to make an arc that puts them in the approximate middle of set, facing up set (and facing the Foot dancers). They then Retreat to the Foot dancers’ original positions.
Foot dancers (5, 6) cast away from center, using two double steps to make an arc that puts them in the approximate middle of set, facing down set (and facing the Head dancers). They then Retreat to the Head dancers’ original positions. NOTE: Foot dancers cast a wider arc outward to allow Head dancers space.
Middle dancers (3, 4) “follow” the head dancers, using one double step to move up (or down) set and a second double step to move outward. They then Retreat to original place.
NOTE: This move inverts the set (1 and 2 take the place of 5 and 6 and visa versa). When it is done a second time, everyone retains their original parts (i.e., the original Foot dancers still cast wide to allow the original Head dancers to have room; the Middle dancers still “follow” the original Head dancers).
Full Hey:
Do a Half Hey to invert the set.
Immediately do another Half Hey to return to place.
