Program Eco-Schools di Pulau Pinang

Eco-Schools Programme in Penang will run concurrently with WWF-MALAYSIA, the national Operator in Malaysia by complying with the rules and regulations, including programme implementation methodology and reporting system.The 12 schools are selected to join this programme based on their high interest and commitment in environmental sustainability education. SMK Convent Pulau Tikus collaborated with WWF-Malaysia and Green Educators’ Workgroup (GREW) in running this programme. This programme is funded by UNESCO MALAYSIA under SKIM GERAN SUMBANGAN SKUM and KOPERASI SMKCPT BERHAD. However, we will work hand in hand with other relevant agencies locally and internationally from time to time too.

The Programme Guidebook will be a guideline for the schools that are involved. In addition, briefing and registration of the programme and e-launching will also be conducted online to guide the schools involved. As an incentive to kick start this programme, KICK-START INSENTIVE RM500 will be given to the respective schools on September 2021 and another RM 500 will be given on March 2022 for those schools who involve in ECO-SCHOOLS exhibition. To ensure effectiveness of the programme, 7 steps methodology workshop will be conducted for both teachers and students. Furthermore, 12 selected schools will be given ongoing guidance and training through online meetings from time to time. Apart from that, best practices sharing sessions and Eco-Schools exhibitions will also be organized. As a reward to the schools that have successfully achieved either Bronze Award, Silver Award or Green Flag Award, a ‘celebrate success’ ceremony will be held at the end of the programme.
