SCIENCE GARDEN

INTRODUCTION:

Science Garden in SMK Convent Pulau Tikus is designed to provide a learning environment outside the classroom in support of the 21st century curriculum and green practices to be applied to all CPT staff. The science garden is an important and strategic component to provide a conducive learning environment especially for Science and Biology subjects. In addition, the Science Garden is also able to make the community, especially students, aware of the preservation and conservation of the environment so that future generations can enjoy and maintain the quality of the environment. This project has also directly involved students in creating a school environment that emphasizes the preservation and preservation of the environment in line with the Eco code so that the school is known as environmentally friendly and pollution free school.

OBJECTIVE:

• To create an outdoor learning station equip with various plants to be used as specimens in the school science laboratory

• To grow herbal plants in the garden with medicinal values for consumption.

• to provide a learning experience in biodiversity

METHODOLOGY:

Science Garden started to implement in the school since 2018. This area will be used as a teaching and learning place for Science and Biology subjects in particular. This Science Garden is still in the second phase which is to add more variety of plants and fill the area with more suitable science info. Laboratory assistants have tried their best and assisted by the students to plant flowers and decorate the Science garden to look more beautiful and attractive. Students also help teachers in gotong-royong to clean the garden.
