CPT HERBS GARDEN

INTRODUCTION:

• Herbs generally refers to the leafy green or flowering parts of a plant (either fresh or dried), while spices are usually dried and produced from other parts of the plant, including seeds, bark, roots and fruits. Herbs have a variety of uses including culinary, medicinal, and in some cases, spiritual. However, the current generation are lack of the knowledge about the benefits of herbs. Therefore, with the initiative to maintain and increase awareness of herbs and their importance and use in medicine and cuisine, SMK Convent Pulau Tikus has created its own Herbs Garden. The Herbal Garden at this school can provide an opportunity for students to get closer to the natural herbs and enhance their knowledge in this. In addition, the program also allows students to understand its impact on the environment and their role in improving the local environment.

OBJECTIVE:

• To grow herbal plants in the garden with medicinal values for consumption.

• To instill love to the nature among community

• To create an outdoor learning station

• to provide a learning experience on biodiversity

TYPES OF HERBS IN CPT HERBS GARDEN

METHODOLOGY

• Teachers and students collect the herbs found around the school area in the Herb Garden

• Pupils seek information on the nutrients and uses of the herbs that have been collected.

• The process of typing, printing and lamination is carried out by the green squad

• Teachers and students paste the information in QR Code in the Herbs Corner for the purpose of outdoor learning

CONCLUSION:

CPT Herbs Garden able to strengthen students' knowledge of herbal plants, provide an outdoor learning activities during lesson, co-curricular activities and to foster the spirit of cooperation among the teachers and students.
