Isotopes

Isotopes in algae?

There are a number of ways in which isotopic studies in algae can be used to establish the links and composition of the food web as well as to develop a greater understanding of the biogeochemical cycle. Isotopic values of primary producers are sensitive to the original nutrient concentrations and isotopic values of each nutrient, which in turn are affected by the physical, chemical and biological processes occurring in a given habitat.
