Methuen High School students Julianna Torrisi, Kadey Vannett, Kara Davidson, John Dowgiert, Amania Galloway, Elvis Soto, Adam McGraw, Lukas Karagiorgos and Lizzie Field chose the science fair as their stage to educate their peers about the dangers of vaping on the human body and the community.  Acknowledging that it was not possible to use real human or animal subjects, they chose a different route- a full on presentation, complete with a poster board with graphs, facts and statistics about vaping, and accompanied by a brochure and a student designed website called "Students Against Vaping."  As they explained to their passers by, high percentages of people who vape are aware that it is probably harmful, but don't actually know why.  The best message received from their presentation was that armed with their new knowledge, these students were able to tell me what they would say to a friend or family member if they saw them vaping.  Their message, "Vaping is addictive, but you can get help.  Let me point you in the right direction."  After all, having knowledge is great, but having the skills and confidence to use that knowledge to help someone is powerful.  Great job!  To see their website, click HERE
