Theory of Mind:
Understanding Others in a Social World

Dear Sir/Madam,

The core concepts involved in Theory of Mind are beliefs, desires, and intentions, which are used to understand why someone acts in a certain way or to predict how someone will act (Kloo et al., 2010). Overall, Theory of Mind involves understanding another person's knowledge, beliefs, emotions, and intentions and using that understanding to navigate social situations.

Very good afternoon Alokji. Today’s presentations, by both the experts have been highly beneficial for professionals and the parents. The illustrations shared have been highly informative and easy to be practiced by parents as well.

When I received your circular I was wondering about the topic and it’s relevance to the field of disability habilitation.

Being the student of psychology at a time (1960s) when it was very much under the daprtment of philosophy I could not fathom the relevance of it to our field.

But our learned experts explained the practical aspects of ‘mind’s functioning and how our day today examples can be used to develop children’s functioning of the ‘mind’. It was also explained as to how children may understand other’s mind & feelings when explained with simple day today’s activities and behaviours, taking into account the developmental level of the child. Hats of to you and the experts.
