 Coming Together Through Color

Drawing Practice: "What are your favorite memories?"

 We started class by giving the students another guided drawing.  We were able to discuss what they drew afterwards, such as spending time with family, trick-or-treating, or going on vacations.  

With these ideas, we were able to segue into the idea of murals.  We were able to talk about artists such as Keith Haring and Jacqueline Alexander-Sykes and the inspirations behind murals as a whole.  

We were able to come up with ideas that would be good to represent in the mural they would make and a lot of these were shown in the actual work shown below:

A mural project can inspire collaboration and push for others to share their stories through their artwork.  


Students can take what they have learned from their past Artworks classes and other art classes and use their knowledge to create their own designs for a collaborative mural.
