Lesson One:

Creating Mixed Media Collages

Students drew upon fond memories spent outdoors as inspiration for their pieces.  Recycled mop pads and construction paper was utilized as a canvas, while magazines, tissue paper, and paint acted as materials. They were taught how to show distance through creating a clear foreground, middle ground and background. This was achieved through gluing and manipulating tissue paper, along with painting and cutting out magazine images.

The final result was an artistic appreciation of each student's selected outdoor scene.
