Microwave Rice!

Background

This is an easy-to-follow recipe for rice if you don't have a rice cooker or stove available!

Equipment

    • Large microwave-safe bowl

    • Microwave

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long-grain rice

  • 3 1/2 cups water

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons butter or oil

  • Salt to taste (optional)

Instructions

1) Combine all ingredients in a large, microwave-safe bowl

2) Cook uncovered on HIGH for 10 minutes (do not open the microwave or stir during or after)

3) Cook uncovered on Medium-Low (40% power) for 15 minutes (do not open the microwave or stir)

4) Season as desired, fluff with a fork, and serve
