Well done to all of our students – your hard work and dedication have truly paid off! ✨ We wish you the best of luck as you embark on the next chapter of your education.
We’re so excited to have you all here! It’s been AMAZING watching our new students soar into their classes – The Eagles 🦅, The Dolphins 🐬, The Chargers ⚡, The Seahawks 🦅, and The Giants 🏆!
You've already hit the ground running, working hard in everything from core subjects 📚 to thematic studies, and showing off your skills in art 🎨, PE ⚽, drama 🎭, and dance 💃!
We have also been absolutely loving our new canteen, 'The Huddle' 🍽️, where break and lunch times are filled with delicious food and new friendships! 😋 Year 7 had their very first assembly with our Head of School, Mrs. Kang 👩🏫, where we listened respectfully to the school expectations and got super excited about our future at Lordswood Boys'.
But that's not all – many of you have also been exploring the fantastic Lordswood Library 📖, checking out books and diving into the LBS 150 Challenge. A special shoutout to our volunteer student librarians, who are currently in training! 👏📚
Well done on a BRILLIANT first week, Year 7! 🌟 We can't wait to see more incredible learning and opportunities unfold over the next half-term! 🚀
I’m thrilled to announce that this year, we are taking our college system to new heights! Our students can now represent their college with even more pride, thanks to the brand new College Ties, which every student has received for FREE. It's a fantastic way for everyone to feel more connected to their college community and showcase their college colours in style.
Colleges Are Back—Bigger and Better Than Ever!
This year, the college spirit is stronger than ever! I’d like to take a moment to extend a warm welcome to Miss George, our new Head of Midland College.
The new College Ties are the perfect addition to our school uniform, and you may have already seen some of our fantastic Year 11s proudly wearing them below. These ties are not just a uniform accessory, but a symbol of the vibrant college culture we’re building together.
I encourage you to chat with your child about their college and ask which events they’re most excited for this year. We have a packed schedule of inter-college competitions, activities, and events that will make this year truly memorable.
Let's make this year our best yet!

Uniform Expectations
As we start a new term, we would like to take the opportunity to revisit our uniform expectations. Uniform is an important part of a school’s identity. Wearing a uniform can improve the sense of belonging in a school and help to create a positive environment. We hope that our students wear their Lordswood Boys' Uniform with pride and have an understanding that it represents our values; leadership, belief, and self-discipline. We ask that students respect our uniform policy and maintain the highest standards of presentation and conduct in the hope that they contribute to, and feel part of, our school community. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps allow students to feel pride in their school. It also helps prepare students for life after school where many will have to dress smartly for work. It would be fair to say that we have several interpretations of what is and is not acceptable uniform and we believe it is time to clarify our expectations for students and parents. The uniform policy is available on the website for further reference, but please see the additional guidance below:

Extra-curricular activities and events are an integral part of the LBS wider curriculum. These activities are crucial for holistic development, offering opportunities for personal growth, skill enhancement, and social engagement. They prepare students for future challenges, both academically and in their personal lives, contributing to their overall success and well-being.
Watch this space for our new and exciting extra-curricular timetable. Literacy tutors will share this with students next week and we will include it in next week’s Blog.

Valencia is fast approaching! We are still waiting on the Medical, Dietary, and Photo Consent documents from a small number of parents. There will be an important meeting on Wednesday, 18th September at the school, starting at 6pm, to go over the final details of the trip. Please ensure you attend this meeting.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Miss Jeffs and I would like to congratulate the Year 7 students for their excellent efforts in music lessons this week. 🎵 YEAR 11 🎵
Our Year 11 GCSE Music students were introduced to a new music learning platform this week called Focus On Sound. This platform, which can be accessed at home and in school, will support all listening aspects of the GCSE course.
This week, students were set a challenge focused on Baroque Music. Focus On Sound is also an excellent revision tool, so we encourage students to use it regularly. 🎧🎻

All music clubs will begin from Monday, 9th September, and we look forward to seeing many students participate. The first clubs on Monday will be:
