Staying Safe This Winter
As winter approaches and the nights are drawing in, it is appropriate that we encourage students to leave school promptly at the end of the day. Students are dismissed at 3pm unless they are taking part in Peak Performance, an extra curricular club or have a detention (which can be checked on Class Charts), when they will be dismissed at 4pm.
School opens at 7.30am and we encourage students to come straight onto the school site when they arrive. The Refectory is open every day for breakfast and free bagels are available on a first come, first served basis.
Please take the time to speak with your child about safe travel routines as the darker months set in. Your support helps ensure all our students arrive to and from school safely and confidently, and develop habits that keep them protected and aware.

⚽ Football Provision ⚽
Over 100 students took part in Football Clubs this week — an incredible turnout! It’s fantastic to see so many students making the most of every opportunity to train, develop their skills, and work as a team in preparation for the upcoming fixtures. The energy and enthusiasm on the pitch have been outstanding — well done, everyone!
This week, students explored different formations and styles of play during their conditioned games, developing a deeper understanding of tactical decision-making. They were challenged with real-game scenarios — for example: “Your team is 1–0 up with ten minutes to play — how do you respond?”
The boys really embraced the challenge, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as they developed strategies to adapt under pressure. It was fantastic to see such thoughtful play and growing tactical awareness on display!

What an incredible and inspiring day! The National Youth Orchestra Inspire Day brought energy, passion, and amazing music-making to Lordswood Boys. 🎻✨
Our students were captivated by the talent and professionalism of the NYO musicians, and many left feeling newly motivated to develop their own musical journeys. We’re thrilled that this looks to be the start of a fantastic new partnership, with more exciting opportunities for students. The possibilities are already buzzing! ls
You can catch up on the highlights here.

Lordswood Boys School warmly honour Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birthday with our Sikh families and the wider community. 🙏💛
Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings remind us of the power of kindness, equality, humility, and selfless service. His vision encourages us to build communities where every individual is valued, supported, and empowered to thrive, principles that resonate deeply within our school. His values can guide us in our daily lives: through empathy, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.
We hope that everyone who celebrated felt the joy and meaning of this occasion.
A huge well done to all our students for a fantastic first half-term! Your hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm continue to inspire us every day. 👏Remember always try your very best and never give up! Remember: "The expert in anything was once a beginner." – Helen Hayes
