Russians settled here in 1784, and in 1867 the United States purchased the land for two mvc cents an acre. Alaska wasn’t a good state to live in but that was before the gold rush! Then gold started popping up everywhere in rivers in lakes people started moving to alaska because they wanted to be rich rich rich. But when the gold rush stopped because Alaska was way too crowded. If you haven’t noticed in the night it's rare but lights show up in the sky they are green they are called the northern lights, they are super cool you should check them out
