The first people came to Connecticut more than 10,000 years ago! Natives lived there several years later. The native tribes where the Mohegan, Poquott, and the Titanic. Dutch and english settlers came in 1614, 1633 and the early 1630s. Over time, the colonists grew unhappy with the British Rule. In 1776, Connecticut’s representatives had signed the Declaration of Independence Along with representatives from other American colonies. This led to the American revolution which lasted until 1783 when the colonies formally won the freedom from the British rule.
Native Americans came to New York almost 5,000 years ago. the native tribes were the Mohawk, Cayuga, Oneida, and Seneca. in 1624 the Dutch established a colony on what's now Manhattan Island called New Amsterdam. It was renamed New York once the British took control of the area in 1664.
The first people in Maine came around 12,000 years ago. The natives were called Malice, the Passamaquoddy, the Abenaki, and the Penobscot. Some people’s descendants were part of the Passamaquoddy, the Maliseet and the Penobscot.
