Browse the following websites and choose one film among the list.

YOUR TASK:

Prepare an oral report and present the film to the class.

Your presentation must be based on a powerpoint or prezi.com presentation.

Each slide will contain images, dates or keywords but NO SENTENCES.

You will use the same slides as notes for you oral presentation.

On each slide there must be a blank space (one on the left or on the right) for you to be able to point at some elements while talking.

You must speak between 3 and 4 minutes maximum (without the trailer).

For doing so, gather selected information on the websites suggested, and use at least the following guidelines:

Organize your oral presentation

    • POINT 1: The film poster
    • POINT 2: The novel/short story* OR the real events the film is based on
    • POINT 3: The author of the novel/short story* OR the real people behind the film
    • POINT 4: The film (director, actors, synopsis) + link to the trailer
    • POINT 5: Historical context (if any).
    • POINT 6: Main topics/themes of the film
    • POINT 7: Elements of American culture in the movie (the roadside diner, the billboard, the motel, the hamburger)
    • POINT 8: The importance/absence of the car in the movie. Explain why it is a road movie.
    • POINT 9: Travelling the open road. The importance of the road in the movie. What does the road represent in the movie?
      • Does the road represent a way of escaping?
      • Is the main character in search of something (searching for something)?
      • Is he wandering about? etc …
