When are bullet points useful?
List of information, characteristics etc.
To display information in an order (to show a processes step by step)
Rule: Do not split sentences over bullet points. Short, incisive lists are preferred and do not need punctuation.
Do:
The man spotted the following objects in his kitchen:
Yellow car
Black dog
Green handbag
Brown horse
Don't:
The man spotted
a yellow car,
a black dog,
a green handbag and
a brown horse in his kitchen.
Rule: Avoid useless insertion
Do:

Rule: A colon is always possible after the introductory sentence.
Rule: No full stop with incomplete sentences. A full stop should complete every sentence. If possible, don’t get sentences and bullet points mixed up.
Rule: If bullet points only match with the headline to add up to a complete sentence, use an ellipsis (‘...‘).
