We are ready for departure!
Welcome to the Didactics part. What are you looking for? Do you want some basic information about didactics? Then I would recommend looking at the explanations and descriptions in more detail. Or are you looking for some inspiration? Then I invite you to take a closer look at the pictures, which are examples of basic principles. You will always find them at the end of a topic.
How can you enhance lectures to reflect effective teaching? How do you recognize a didactically good lecture? You can create significant added value for our users by following the basic rules below.
Well structured and clear: A ‘red thread’ of consistency in structure should be apparent from the course level to every single slide. Thus, our participants will have a good overview at every point of the course and can effectively integrate the explained content with their previous knowledge. For example, lecturers should make sure that participants recognize that this concept is basic knowledge, another concept is particularly relevant to the exam, here is the introduction and there is the exercise, etc. This also means paying attention to the clarity of the titles.
Focused on the most important and relevant: The content is limited to the essentials. Our participants can focus because we show them at every stage what is currently important. We guide their attention through slide animations and thus prevent divided attention.
Visualization: Instead of a desert of text, we prefer to present content graphically. However, it is important that the graphics do not need to be interpreted. They should be clear. For example, a presentation in the form of a bar chart is wrong if it is not about a continuum. Another example is that if arguments are not displayed opposite from each other but instead are below each other, you unintentionally show a hierarchy, etc. The type of presentation must always match the content.
A great participant approach: The content suits our participants. We have thought about what is important for beginners and what advanced learners need to know. A motivating approach is important to us.
