World Book Day
This module, LAB celebrated World Book Day. Students approached the day with the same passion, thoughtfulness and joy that they do with their learning every day. The day was focused around encouraging a passion for reading in all its forms.
Students and staff had the opportunity to dress up as a literary character; the costumes were truly fantastic and created a wonderful buzz.
Across World Book Day, there were multiple competitions to enjoy: the masked teacher behind the book, an extreme reading challenge and guess the book from the cover. We also gave students an opportunity to listen to a ten minute story and to discuss the importance of reading.
Overall, a wonderful event that truly encapsulated the spirit of LAB!

Zones of Regulation Online Parent Training Session.
On March 23rd we ran our first parents online training session from our SEN department . This module we have been running interventions for some of our SEN students on the Zones Of Regulation programme. This is an established intervention helping students to recognise the emotions they are feeling by placing them into four colour groups. Students then work through what makes them feel like this and most importantly what they need to do to manage these emotions. With the outcome being that students are able to self regulate their emotions by having an “inner toolkit” to support themselves.
