Terms
The Board comprises 15 members, including the Chair/Co-Chairs, in addition to honorary members Gail Rosenberg and Ellen Goldman.
Members serve a three-year term and are eligible for up to two consecutive terms. This rule also applies to the Chair/Co-Chairs.
Terms commence at Largay Connect and conclude three years thereafter at Largay Connect.
Following two consecutive terms, an advisor must observe a one-term hiatus before reapplying for membership.
To maintain consistency, it is preferred that no more than four advisors rotate off the Board annually. Should more than four members be due to rotate off, volunteers will first be solicited from that group. If fewer than four individuals volunteer, Leadership will exercise discretion in determining who will rotate off.
Criteria to apply for membership
Applicants must have been affiliated with Largay Travel for a minimum of two years.
Applicants must meet the current minimum revenue goal.
Applicants must be in compliance with all Largay processes, licensing, and other requirements.
Advisors may self-nominate or be nominated by another advisor.
Decisions for membership acceptance
Members are selected by the Largay Travel Leadership Team based on the following criteria:
Demonstrate high engagement with Largay Travel, including participation in meetings and events.
Preference for advisors familiar with additional services offered, such as Assistant Services and the Air Department, to provide constructive feedback.
A desired mix of experience levels, encompassing legacy advisors, newer industry professionals, and individuals with expertise in specific areas such as technology, marketing, or group travel.
Diverse backgrounds, including advisors with long-standing tenure at Largay Travel, those who joined from other host agencies, and graduates of the Mentoring Program.
Adherence to Largay Travel’s Core Values.
Recommendations from current LAB members and feedback from Largay Travel employees will be considered.
Timeline:
September: Determination of the number of vacancies, based on terms served and advisors wishing to depart the Board, with a target cap of four vacancies.
By October 1st: The application will be distributed to the Largay Team, along with a reminder of qualifications and expectations. Advisors may apply for themselves or nominate others.
October 15th: Deadline for application submission.
October 15th - October 31st: The list of applicants will be provided to the current LAB for feedback. Feedback will also be solicited from employees to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.
November 1st: Leadership will select new members and issue notifications to facilitate arrangements for early arrival at Largay Connect for the initial meeting.
Spring: The first mandatory meeting will occur at Largay Connect, attended by both outgoing and incoming members. All LAB members, including those rotating off the Board, will be announced and recognized at Largay Connect.
Expectations of LAB Members:
Attendance at all meetings (schedule permitting).
Contribution of suggestions for, and participation in, discussion topics at meetings.
Attendance at all weekly Town Halls (schedule permitting).
Serving as a positive example of engagement and involvement for other Business Partners (ICs).
Maintaining a high standard for the Largay Facebook Forum, exclusively recommending preferred partners and offering advice when appropriate.
Adherence to all departmental processes and providing feedback and suggestions regarding their efficacy.
Availability to mentees for guidance and advice.
Upholding all of Largay Travel’s Core Values.
LAB Meetings:
Every effort will be made to maintain a consistent meeting schedule. Meetings will be held quarterly, on the second Thursday of every third month, 1-3pm EST. If there is a time sensitive issue that needs to be discussed, we will have additional meetings.
