Machine Search

The Machine Search view comprises two sections, the first section is where users input what domain they want to search. A domain is defined by a country (or group of countries), a store (or group), product (or group) and dates (all dates, peak-dates or off-peak dates).

Once the domain is selected, users can choose to use a mapping file to translate the results - to display product descriptions rather than product codes for example.

After that users press the search button and the application will retrieve data from the domain and display in the table (section 2).

This is what the columns mean:

• Current Price: The application takes the modal price in this country/store domain in the most 7 days for which there are sales.
• Best Price (Revenue): Using historical data, the application identifies the price at which revenue is maximized for this product.
• Incremental Revenue: This column displays the incremental daily revenue for the product if the price was set to the Best Price (Revenue).
• % Incremental Revenue: The % increase in daily revenue as a result of the price change.
• Best Price (Profit): If cost data is supplied in the files then the application will calculate the profit (Gross) at each price point. This column then calculates the best price to maximize daily profit generation.
• Incremental Profit: This column displays the incremental daily profit for the product if the price was set to the Best Price (Profit).
• % Incremental Profit: The % increase in daily profit as a result of the price change.
• Currency symbols are applied automatically if country is specified.

This table allows users to monitor items. This is achieved by checking the Monitor Item check box for those items that users want to want track and then pressing the Monitor Items at the top of the table. This displays the monitor items form.
