How to Manage Mapping Files?

Mapping Files allow users to combine simple filters and transformations to enable complex data wrangling operations to be performed. The processing information is stored in text files that can be uploaded in to the application. Some are created in the application as well, and as we develop the product more and more will be created in the application. For now, uploading new files is the current solution.

1. Select "Manage Mapping Rules" icon on the home screen.

2. Then select the "Add New Mapping Rule" button at the top of the page. This displays a new window.

3. In the window that appears, select the source of the new file (Local or Cloud).

4. Title the new file and select save.

The "Easy to Delete" check box will cause the application to not run any dependency checks if a mapping file is used in a pipeline or another static data before deleting it.

Mapping File Actions

As with static data, mapping files have some associated actions. These are listed in the actions column or when you expand the view - if your window is minimized.

Mapping File Info

Pressing this action button displays more information about a mapping file. Who generated it, when it was generated, what was the source - if it came from a Static Data file, how many rows are in the file.

Properties Edit

Pressing this icon displays a mapping file's editable properties - name and "easy to delete" property. Edit, then press save.
