How to process data?

****WARNING****

Processing Data Files can create excessively large files with millions of columns and rows. Currently these are produced in memory so it is likely that this operation will not succeed. Please email support@knowledgeleaps.com before processing a data file.

Processing data in Knowledge Leaps entails creating and then applying rules to a set of unprocessed or "raw" data.

For definitions of types of data see: Types of Data

1. Processing can be done once a data set has been uploaded. to begin processing find the data set in "Manage Static Data"

2. Once the dataset you wish to process is located click on the "Select Variables" icon to the right

To see options for processing multiple datasets at the same time see: How to combine different data?

3. Select one "Unique Identifier Variable". Then hit "Next Step".

4. Select one "Profile Variable". Then Hit "Next Step"

5. Under "Grouping Type" select either "Time" or "Transaction" to organize your data as needed. Then select desired grouping variables from the options below. Then Hit "Next Step".

6. Then Select the relevant Multi-dimensional Variables.

See: What are multi-dimensional variables?

7. Select the relevant single-dimensional variables.

See: What are single dimension variables?

8. It is now time to create rules. Select a variable and combine it with a "Rule Type" then select "Add" . Repeat this to add more rules using any of the variables you selected earlier.

For information on rule types see: Presence, Count and Sum

9. Finally, Select the rules you wish to apply at the current time and then select "Save" to initiate Processing.
