During this unit students conceptualized that throughout history humans have developed innovative technology in response to real or anticipated needs resulting in both benefits and challenges for individuals and society.

Our unit understandings included:

• Technology develops in response to current or anticipated needs.

• The invention of the microchip has driven all modern technology.

• Technology provides benefits and challenges to society.

• Innovators employ various strategies to develop new ideas and improve on existing ones.
