Archaeology

During this unit students discovered how the study of archaeology uncovers history and provides clues into the lives of people in the past.

Our unit understandings included:

• Archaeologists utilize specialized methods to excavate and analyze artifacts in order to better understand the cultures of people from the past.

• Components such as beliefs, language, number system, calendar, customs, and government make up the culture of a people.

• Conclusions drawn from the study of artifacts may or may not be accurate and may be altered as new discoveries are made.
