During this unit students discovered how the study of archaeology uncovers history and provides clues into the lives of people in the past.
Our unit understandings included:
Archaeologists utilize specialized methods to excavate and analyze artifacts in order to better understand the cultures of people from the past.
Components such as beliefs, language, number system, calendar, customs, and government make up the culture of a people.
Conclusions drawn from the study of artifacts may or may not be accurate and may be altered as new discoveries are made.
