Students rotated to different centers where they practice coping skills
-drawing, fidgets, yoga/stretching, playdoh, puzzles and feeling sort
Week of April 4
Students watched a video on honesty and taught them the importance of telling the truth; even when they may get in trouble. When we don't' tell the truth, we start to feel guilty and bad inside.
Week of March 28
Students watched a video that talked trust and how it is earned and that it is okay to say NO.
Week of March 21
Students listened to a story called: "Personal Space Camp". It talked about our personal bubble and how it sometimes can be big or small dependin gon how comfortable we are. We also talked about appropriate ways to walk in a line, sitting on the carpet space and playing with friends!
Week of March 7
Students watched a video called: "What to do when you get angry". It taught them 5 ways to handle emotions when mad.

Students watched a short video on consequences of not using our manners
Week of February 21
Students learned 3 ways we can solve problems:
Shark - hitting, pushing, interrupting, taking things without asking
Turtle - pouting, crying, doing nothing
Owl - using our words, standing up for ourselves in a positive way
Week of February 14
Students listened to a story called Heartprints, where it taught students to send heartprints to their friends and family throughout their day. Heartprints could be things like waving, smiling, hugs, helping someone up, being a good listening, cleaning your room, being kind and caring, etc!
Week of January 31
Students learned step #5 on what to do when someone is bothering or bullying them. The last step is to ask a teacher or parent for help.
Week of January 24
Students learned step #4 of what to do when someone of bother us. However this time we talked about how to use these skills when sticking up for a friend who might be getting bothered. We also talked about how it takes courage to stick up for our friends!
Week of Jan 10
Students watched a video about the importance of friendship and sometimes if we spend too much time in front of a tv or videogame, our friends can sometimes feel sad or left out.

Students learned the Cyber 5 Rules! We talked about different ways to stay safe when playing games and watching videos online.

Students watched a video about the power of giving during the holiday season and while getting gifts is great, giving gifts is great too!

Students listened to a story called "My Body Belongs to Me". We talked about good touch/bad touch and who our trusted adults are that we can go to for when we need help!

Students talked about how sometimes we are unable to walk away (for example when we're sitting in class). This is where we might use the third step.

Students talked about how sometimes ignoring doesn't work. We read and learned the next step on what to do when someone is bothering them

Students were introduced to a new book that includes 5 stores and steps on what they should do when someone is bothering them.

Students went through a variety of pictures and had to decide if this was a healthy and unhealthy choice.

Students continued their discussion on tattling and went through a variety of situations and decided if the situation was a Big Deal or a Little Deal!

Students learned the difference between tattling and telling!
Week of September 27
Students started a new unit on Emotional ABCs and learned how sometimes music can even make us feel certain emotions! We also read the color monsters and students made their own monsters with the emotions they feel most often.
Week of September 20
Students completed lesson 4 of emotional ABCS and learned a lesson on sportsmanship. We talked about different things we can say or do to show sportsmanship. Students practiced their sportsmanship skills with a friendly game of rock, paper, scissors!
Week of September 13
Students talked about Homecoming some traditions our community does to celebrate being Tea Titans! We talked about how we all can come together to build great things by sharing ideas with one anther. All students in the school colored a block that was incorporated into this piece of art that is displayed in the lunch room!

Students completed lesson 3 of Emotional ABCs and learned different coping skills they could try when they become angry or frustrated.
Week of August 30
Students completed Lesson 2 of Emotional ABCs and learned how our feelings are like the weather! We also talked about having good manners at home, school and with friends!
Week of August 23
This week we started learning our Emotional ABCs! This is a program that helps students recognize how they feel, pause and make a positive choice with their actions. We will complete 1 lesson each week.
We also talked about rules and why they are important!

Students learned the role of a school counselor and we also talked about the Zones of Regulation.
