Mrs. Eidem visited the 5th grade classes and told them all about middle school and answered all their questions!
Week of April 18
Students participated in a discussion on how our interests can most often relate to our future career (s). If we know what we like to do and try to find a job that incorporates these interests, then we’ll hopefully end up going to a job that we love when we are adults!
Week of April 4
Students watched a video about facing our fears. WE learned they're are different types of fears, ranging from spider or heights but also the fear of not fitting in.
Week of February 21
Students participated in a whole class activity where they had to work together to spell words.
Week of January 31
Students started a video series called Character For Life. They will be learning how our character and how we use it will directly benefit them in the world of work when they are older.
Week of January 18
Students had a large groups discussion on social media safety. Areas discussed were:
social awareness
Self-awareness
self-management
Responsible decision - making
Week of Dec 13
Students rotated to 5 different spots in the room that talked about different safety tips and situations. Students worked together to make positive choices.
Week of Nov 1
Students learned about the science of happiness and those who think about and express gratitude tend to live a more well balanced, happy life.
Week of Oct 18
Students talked and learned about what it means to make positive, healthy choices. There always is a lot of questions and some story sharing during this type of lesson. I always encourage students ask questions to their parents.
Week of September 27
Students learned the importance is focusing on the teacher, ignoring distractions as well as not creating distractions for their classmates.
Week of September 13
Students talked about Homecoming some traditions our community does to celebrate being Tea Titans! We talked about how we all can come together to build great things by sharing ideas with one anther. All students in the school colored a block that was incorporated into this piece of art that is displayed in the lunch room!
Week of August 23
Students were welcomed back to the GOLD room and went over the student referral process and GOLD google classroom. They ended their lesson with an activity where they had to try different strategies to achieve a certain result.
