TOUGH

Week of May 9

Students listened to the third story of our series on bullying. The story showed a better understanding as to why some kids bully others at school. Maybe they were bullied before, are being bullied at home or maybe they are struggling making friends. The story offers advice to bullies on what they can do to change their behavior for the better. 


DARE

Week of April 25

DARE is a story that talks about the perspective of the bystander in a bully situation. Students learned about the confidence they need to have to stand up to what is right.

Social/Emotional

Week of April 11

Students watched a video on friendships and the pressure we sometimes feel to change who we are to feel accepted. They learned the importance of being true to ourselves and to be one of a kind!

WEIRD

Week of March 7

Students started a 3 week bullying unit where they will get a closer look at the perspective of the bully, victim and bystander. WERID is about a girl who gets picked on and talks about how it affects how she views herself and her confidence level. 

Perseverance

Week of February 7

Students took part in a whole group discussion on perseverance and what that looks like in school, activities, sports and future career goals.

Internet Safety

Week of January 24

Students looked at a variety of social media posts and had to decided if the post was safe or unsafe.

How to Stay Safe

Week of Dec 6

Students watched a video that talked about a variety of different safety situations. Students got multiple choice answers where they had to pick the correct option.

Triangles of Are Not Bad!

Week of Nov 8

Students read a story called "Triangles are Not Bad!" It is a story about a small town of shapes who were only friends with the shapes that looked just like them. Once they start to come together, they realized how many cool things they can make when the come together.

Red Ribbon Week

Students talked and learned about what it means to make positive, healthy choices. There always is a lot of questions and some story sharing during this type of lesson. I always encourage students ask questions to their parents.


Kindness

Week of September 27

Students participated in a discussion on random acts of kindness and how a very simple act of just smiling, can make someone's day!

Unity Project

Week of September 13

Students talked about Homecoming some traditions our community does to celebrate being Tea Titans! We talked about how we all can come together to build great things by sharing ideas with one anther. All students in the school colored a block that was incorporated into this piece of art that is displayed in the lunch room!

Strategy

Week of August 23

Students were welcomed back to the GOLD room and went over the student referral process and GOLD google classroom. They ended their lesson with an activity where they had to try different strategies to achieve a certain result.
