State Seal of Biliteracy

WHAT IS THE STATE SEAL OF BILITERACY?

The Seal of Biliteracy is a special state recognition that promotes and validates bilingualism and biliteracy in English and a second langauge. Jurupa has a pathway to recognize students who are bilingual and biliterate and graduating seniors will have the opportunity to obtain the official State Seal of Biiteracy (SSB) recorded on their diploma and transcripts. This is much vaue to our students as they apply for colleges and enter the workforce.

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STATE SEAL OF BILITERACY (SSB) AWARD?

The Seal of Biliteracy shall be awarded by the Superintendent to seniors who complete the requirements for a high school diploma and who meet all of the requirements outlined in the application. * Please note that the CAASPP requirement (standardized testing) has been waived by the state therfore, it does not apply to the 2021-2022 school year.
