You are a machine,
Useful yet detested.
I am water,
Necessary and shallow.
Though living beings need me,
You don’t.
You say you need me to loosen your gears,
To reduce the friction stopping you. But I
only worsened the problem at hand, And
you grind your gears in spite.
I only gave you what you wanted,
I tried to soothe your pain.
I didn’t know I’d make you rust,
Leaving you immobile.
After you were damaged,
You found something new
And mended your ailment.
Now, you function with ease,
Allowing you to pollute my waters.
