Hello Wolf Pack Families!

Welcome back for another great week at ETMS! Students will take the MAP Math section today, April 10th. Our PTSA is offering a reward to all students who grow from the winter to spring MAP! We saw the majority of our students grow on their Reading sections of MAP on Friday.

Wow! If you were able to attend our Spring Festival on Friday, you know what a grEaT time we all had. Thank you to our amazing PTSA, staff, students, and school community for making it possible! It is events like these that show what a powerful and committed school community we are building at ETMS.

Please help remind your students that Chromebooks and chargers will be collected this Wednesday, April 16th. In order for students to participate in our end of year activities, they will need to have these items turned in. ETMS Administration will be reviewing end of year activities and requirements with students on Tuesday, April 15th. End of year contracts and information will be sent home with students to be signed and returned by Friday, April 18th. Please note, expectations on the contract will be enforced with or without a parent/guardian signature. We appreciate your partnership as always.

30 boxes (class total) = level 1: Earning Dress Down Day (on Friday 4/18)

60 boxes (class total) = level 2: 20 HERO Points

90 boxes (class total) = level 3: Cafe Social Time

1,000 boxes (school goal): Dr. Ammerman will be duct taped to a wall during lunch (4/18/25)

What is HERO?

HERO is our platform to recognize and reward students for positive actions and behaviors. Students are able to earn points throughout the week for demonstrating the G.R.E.A.T. Pillars of Success.

G - Growth Mindset

R - Ready and Responsible

E - Enthusiastic Attitude

A - Actively Participate

T - Treat yourself and others with kindness

Lanyards: Each student received an Echo Trail Lanyard with their school ID. Expectation is students MUST have their school ID and lanyard with them each day in order to earn points. IDs are used to award points and scan for lunch numbers. In the event, students will need to replace their lanyard, ID and/or plastic ID holder, they can redeem points to do so.

Celebrations: HERO recognitions will take place weekly, monthly and quarterly to celebrate our top HERO earners and staff members who reward points.

If your student has an academic question or social-emotional need, you can reach our counselors or Mental Health Practitioner by filling out the Counselor Google Form.

EXPLORE

👀 Check out what's Happening in Explore this week...

6th Grade

Business & Communication Consumer Science Engineering & Design - All 6th Graders will begin the last term rotating through all 3 Explore Classes. Each Rotation will be 2 weeks long, culminating with a 3 week period where students will complete their Pathway Selection and their Pathway Defense. Students will start the process of selecting their Explore Pathway. The Explore Pathway is a two year commitment and will consist of a year-long course in each of their 7th and 8th grade years. It is important that students select their pathway based on interest and not on friends or teachers. Schedule changes will not be possible once the selections happen. We have been talking with students about this but wanted to also make sure we communicated with families as we begin this process. More information will be coming soon. Thank you for your partnership in supporting your students in making the best decision for them!

Important Information & Upcoming Events

Update School Calendar

Jefferson County Public Schools students will have one day added to the 2024-25 academic calendar after the district's board voted to extend the school year, due to the series of cancellations caused by severe weather in January. The new last day of school will now be Friday, May 23, just ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

Reminders for Picking Up Students After Clubs

We are so thankful to have so many students engaged with after school activities! With that, we have a lot of students who need to get picked up all at the same time, creating congestion in the parking lot.

If you are picking up a student after their club, please pull all the way forward through the circle, just like our normal after school dismissal, to provide as much space as possible for all waiting cars.

Additionally, we highly recommend that you park in a parking space to wait for your student. If you choose to park, you may slowly and carefully drive around cars that are waiting in line to get to a parking spot.

Because some clubs are released later than others, parking will allow more cars into the waiting area.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Meetings occur every Wednesday from 7:00-7:20am outside the Library on the social stairs. Although this is a before school club, parents are to drop off their student as normal by the gym entrance beginning at 7am. This means if your student is carpool, please drive through the single lane as normal and do not divide into two lanes or drop off early. Please be mindful of our morning staff as they are making sure all students are dropped off safely.

Athletic Forms

Your student athlete will not be able to participate in any activity (including practices) until they have completed the Echo Trail Athletics Physical Packet (ignore the school year -- it's still the same packet as last year). This includes the WHOLE packet. Use the cover sheet as a checklist to complete all required forms in order for your student athlete to be eligible to start their desired activity.

Weekly Wrap Up

After a short layoff last week, Spring Sports were back in action.

After days off and games called due to the floods, our Wolfpack returned to their playing fields and competition. There were highlights from the games played, but our Girls Soccer team collected our school's very first girls soccer WIN with a 2-1 victory over Barret.

Looking forward to see more results this coming week with a full slate of games for our spring sport teams.

Volunteer This School Year!

We'd love to have you participate in field trips and other volunteer opportunities. Head to the JCPS Volunteer page (Get Involved) and click Volunteer Talent Center to fill out a background check form. Background checks are kept on file with the district and are good for 5 years.
