Hello Wolf Pack Families!
I would like to invite our Wolfpack families to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Kaylee Salamon, one of our beloved teachers who we lost too soon. Please see details below:
We are entering our FINAL week of our Holiday Assistance Food and Product Drive partnering with our GSA club! We currently have 443 items that have been donated! Students can bring in the following items below to earn points towards their first period class. The 6th and 7th grade 1st period class with the most items will win a donut party! Deadline is 11/22/24.
Thank you for a wonderful official launch of our Weapons Detection System. Our district support was extremely complimentary of our systems and students. We appreciate your continued partnership with this as we ensure our students have a smooth start to the day.
Thank you to Mrs. Roe and all of the PTSA Board members and volunteers who made the Harvest Dance a grEaT success for our students. They had a blast!
We have seen an increase in students saying things to one another as a “joke” but involving threatening language. Please review this handbook with your student and remind them of the seriousness of the words they choose. Our staff, JCPS Police, and others will always be vigilant and take any reported threat against our school seriously. Thank you in advance for supporting our students together with the words they use.

Check out our HERO point leaders for last week!
We are seeing an uptick in peer conflict that is stemming from social media and group chats (text messages) communication. We are working to educate our students at school on how to resolve conflict and how to form healthy peer relationships. This work cannot be done alone and we are asking parents and guardians to partner with us in order to navigate healthy friendships while living in a tech world. Remind your child to always “Treat yourself and others with kindness” no matter if they are speaking face to face or online. Below are a few suggestions on how you can speak to your child about their social media use:
Help them set boundaries and limits on tech. Make sure using social media doesn't get in the way of adequate sleep.
Have regular conversations with your child about their mental health and well-being. Talk about the platforms they're on, app features, and how they make your child feel.
Make sure they know to go to a trusted adult if they feel uncomfortable about something online.
If your student has an academic question or social-emotional need, you can reach our counselors or Mental Health Practitioner by filling out the Counselor Google Form.
6th Grade - Ms. Thomas/Ms. Wales
7th Grade - Mr. Rul-lan/Ms. Wales
Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) - Mrs. Sanders
If you have updated immunization forms, please send those to the nurse's office. You may email them to the school at echotrailmiddle_reginfo@jefferson.kyschools.us, text or fax them to 502-485-8398.
The PTSA is now settled in their permanent location near the front office. Students can purchase uniform-approved apparel and more during their open hours.
The PTSA Bookstore is unable to return, exchange or refund any items purchased from BSN. That is a separate company and they are not responsible for purchases with BSN.
Please check at home for any library books that may be overdue and remind your students to check their lockers as well!
Do you have some grEaT photos from Echo Trail events? Submit them for consideration to be included in the 2024-25 Yearbook!

A science fair project is a chance for you to explore a topic in science that interests you by creating an experiment, making observations, and drawing conclusions. It lets you become a scientist, discovering answers to your questions and presenting your findings. Participating in a science fair can be exciting and fun, and it's also a great way to learn new skills and show off your creativity and hard work!
Echo Trial will be hosting a school wide science fair the week of December 16. Any student can participate in this science fair. For more information reach out to Mrs. Jacoby at: amanda.jacoby@jefferson.kyschools.us
Starting November 1, we'll be collecting items for our Holiday Assistance Program. Check out the list and see where you can help!

There will be boxes in the den area for students to drop off items during the month of November! The two winning 1st period classes will win a prize. The flyer with the specific items is attached.
6th grade Consumer Science students will be designing/inventing something to enhance safety and prevent accidents/dangerous situations. We are in need of clean, recyclables. All recyclables should be brought to room 230 (Boone) or room 222 (Barnsfather).
Things like... newspaper, magazines, tissue paper, empty paper towel/toilet paper rolls, empty (but clean) food containers...or just anything that you think a student could use to help their imagination come to life. Please no glass, aluminum, or anything sharp.

Some of our clubs end at different times after school, so not all students will be released and waiting in the front immediately. This sometimes causes congestion due to cars in the front of the line waiting for their student to be released while cars in the back can't get to the front to pick up their waiting student.
If you are picking up a student after their club, please pull all the way forward through the circle, just like our normal after school dismissal, to provide as much space as possible. Additionally, you may park in a parking space to wait for your student.
Thanks for your help in this matter!
Join us for our informational night on Monday, December 2, 2024 7pm in the Band Room at Echo Trail Middle School! No experience is required and this is open to all students. No JCPS sports physical is required. Please plan ahead the following in preparation for this meeting:
$75 fee/student (cash or check made payable to Echo Trail Middle School). MySchoolBucks will also be an option this night.
Students will need to sign up for a team of 4.
Ready to complete forms in order to participate.
Bowling will begin Friday, January 3rd after school at Ten Pin Lanes in St. Matthews.
League Days are every Friday and the season is 6 weeks long.
Transportation to the bowling alley is not provided. Parents must pick-up their students promptly after school at 2:25pm and drive to Ten Pin Lanes.
Carpooling is highly encouraged and is suggested to be per team (4 students).
League Days end at 3:45pm. Transportation home is not provided.
If your student does not have a team of 4, we will pair up students as best as possible so all students can participate.
Although we do not compete against other schools, we do track stats for each bowler and each team. We award 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for Boys and Girls at the end of the season.
No practices are required outside of the league days but encouraged for those on their own time.
Parent volunteers are welcome to participate but required a background check on file and clearance from the coach.
For questions, please email Mr. Stivers at joseph.stivers@jefferson.kyschools.us
Meetings occur every Wednesday from 7:00-7:20am outside the Library on the social stairs. Although this is a before school club, parents are to drop off their student as normal by the gym entrance beginning at 7am. This means if your student is carpool, please drive through the single lane as normal and do not divide into two lanes or drop off early. Please be mindful of our morning staff as they are making sure all students are dropped off safely.
If you have questions, you can email Mr. Stivers at joseph.stivers@jefferson.kyschools.us
Our last meeting of this semester will be on Wednesday, December 18. At this meeting, we plan to celebrate Christmas by sharing the Christmas story, have some games, and share donuts with those in attendance. We are in need of 10 families to purchase 1 dozen glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme. If you can help, please click here to sign up!
For questions, please contact Mr. Stivers at joseph.stivers@jefferson.kyschools.us

Weekly Wrap Up
The Wolfpack welcomed Moore MS to our home floor on Tuesday, and all three teams did not disappoint. The Wolfpack walked away with another 3-0 night moving all three teams to a record of 3-1.
Next up the Wolves will Travel to Meyzeek on Tuesday, before returning home to host Oldham Co. MS on Wednesday.
Wednesday's game will be in honor of our very own Coach Kaylee Salamon to honor her life and her lasting effect she had on our staff and students. Please wear your purple to show your support and how strong our Salamon Squad is.
After starting our swim program last year, the Echo Trail swimmers came out and made a statement in year two. With PR's in both individual events and team relays, the Wolfpack ended the season finishing 8th overall in the JCPS Swim Championship meet.
The Boys fought and finished 10th in the boys division, and the girls showed just how strong they can be by finishing 4th in the girls division.
Congratulations on another GREAT season for our swim team, and Thank You to Coach Erin Herndon.
If you are interested in playing baseball this spring for Echo Trail, come join the baseball coaches at the Eastern High School indoor facility on 11/22 starting at 6:00 pm. Coaches will be present to discuss the season, physical and athletic packets can be turned in if you have not done so already, and students can get some swings in while attending (bring your equipment).

At this point in the school year, we know the consistent number of students on each bus. If a student needs to ride home with someone else, we will handle this on a case-by-case basis due to the availability of seats on each bus.
The process will be:
Both parents/guardians would send a note to school the morning of
School Administrators will check to see if there is room on the bus
If there is room, student will be able to ride
If there is NOT room, student will NOT be able to ride and will need to go home their normal way
A call will be made to let parents/guardians know if the transportation change is approved or not approved
We'd love to have you participate in field trips and other volunteer opportunities. Head to the JCPS Volunteer page (Get Involved) and click Volunteer Talent Center to fill out a background check form. Background checks are kept on file with the district and are good for 5 years.
Our newsletter is sent out every Monday morning. Previous newsletters can be found on the top left side menu bar.
