INNOVATIVE IDEAS contest held from December 2020 to February 2021.

·         The Contest was held to provide a platform to our young minds to show case their innovative ideas. We invited innovative and novel ideas from the students belonging to all Govt. Degree Colleges of UT of J & K and also other young mind across UT of JK. 

·      Ideas invited from areas: Handicrafts-traditional Technologies/ Energy Conservation/ Horticulture and Agriculture / Food Processing /Grassroots innovation/ New Projects and Services/ Traffic Management etc.

·      Prizes offered

·      10000, 8000 & 5000 respectively for first three winners in hardware category.

·      8000, 5000 & 3000 respectively for first three winners in software category.

Hardware category.

1.  Ms. Romaisa Jan for Mobile Scientific Laboratory, ₹10000.

2.  Ms. Masarat Mohi ud din for Development and Evaluation of Low-cost Chilli Seed Extractor, ₹8000.

The objective of the MOU envisages infrastructural support and services of Skillful personnel and mentoring of novel ideas in the field of handicrafts, their design element and value addition by CDI Srinagar to such idea holders and aspiring entrepreneurs among students of this College and the Students of our allied spoke colleges of district Bandipora and Ganderbal. The MOU also envisages providing service and support to local population of the Downtown Srinagar in the field of Handicrafts, their design element and value addition.

To Inculcate a nurture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Culture in our Students, an Online webinar was held on 30 August 2021 on the Theme “INNOVATION WHY AND WHAT OF IT”.

Speakers Included:

1.    Dr. Sheikh Fayaz (innovation Researchers Zhejiang University China).

2.    Mr. Sheikh Annayat Ullah (innovation and entrepreneur, founder of startup “Move Beyond”).

·         Around 100 students joined the Webinar.

Established Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar, as Institution Innovation Council (IIC) during IIC Calendar year 2020-2021.

·         Present and future IIC Islamia College activities under Colander year 2021 – 2022 to be held.

Under IIC council Activity an Offline/ Online one-day Seminar titled Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Kashmir Prospects and Challenges was held on 26 march 2022.

Around 200 students joined in online offline Mode.

Innovation Club of college Students was created to act as a bridge between the Innovation Centre of the College and students of the College. The members of Innovation club would act as an ambassador for the activities of the Centre.

To give members of Innovation Club an opportunity to get face to face with innovation Culture Activities, an Offline Special session was held, titled "SUCCESSFUL FAILURES: HOW LEADERS INNOVATE" on 25th April 2022.

A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was jointly Organized by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development facilitation office Srinagar in collaboration with Innovation and Incubation Centre Islamia College Srinagar on 22-09-2022.

Around 80 students joined the Programme.

A one day special program on ‘ From Idea to Start-up’ was organized on 5th November, 2022 to promote Start up culture among the college students and parade budding Students Entrepreneurs: Areeba wani, Maria Rashid, Hamza Wali, Zuhaif, Arbain to inspire students towards innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up.

One Day workshop on Corporate Governance: Scope and Concerns held on 6th May, 2023.

A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was jointly Organized by  Innovation and Incubation Centre Islamia College Srinagar in collaboration  with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Srinagar  on 4th July 2024.

Students Entrepreneurs: Ruksaar Khan, Sehar Hakak, Fadak, Tamjeed and Faiziq  presented their ventures and apprised the audience about their enterprises and sought help from experts of EDI to  tackle issues like  seed money, prototyping, finance, patent etc.

Around 150 students joined the Programme.

MOU was signed with  Entrepreneurship Development Institute J & K on 20th July 2024 for development and promotion of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Start up culture in college students.

Expert Talk on Challenges and opportunities in Nanotechnology on 5th August 2024 by Prof. Mohammad Ashraf Shah  jointly organized with Dept. Of physics to create innovative ideation in Nanotechnology in Student

A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness workshop having Drone Entrepreneurship as one of distinguishing features  was jointly Organized by  Innovation and Incubation Centre Islamia College Srinagar in collaboration  with the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)  Technology Development  Center Extension center Srinagar  on 21st  November 2024.

The resource persons included:
