Mela Kheer Bhawani, Tulmulla

On the eve of religious festival - Mela Kheer Bhawani, Tulmulla, Ganderbal; the NSS Unit-II of the Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar organized a Facilitation Camp on 3rd of June, 2025 (Tuesday) for the devotees of the festival. Mela Kheer Bhawani has always stood as an epitome of inter-community harmony. The pilgrimage offers a chance to reconnect with their homeland and pray for peace. The event was successfully carried under the patronage of Prof. Tehmeena Yousuf, Principal of the college and was co-ordinated by Dr. Mohmed Amin Mir, NSS Programme Officer of the college. In this annual festival which is dedicated to Mata Raghyna Devi, NSS Unit of the college offered juices, drinking water/ water bottles and refreshment to the pilgrims ensuring their comfort during such pilgrimage. The Mela reinforces the spirit of unity and the cultural heritage that binds the people of Jammu & Kashmir together. As s gesture of solidarity and service, the college staff and NSS Volunteers participated in this spiritually significant event, symbolizing the deep-rooted communal harmony and interfaith brotherhood that define the cultural fabric of Kashmir. The camp by engaging volunteers and staff in community service and promoting communal harmony aimed to provide assistance and essential support to devotees participating in the Yatra ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience.  The initiative was a significant step towards fostering a sense of social responsibility and bond among students and the community. The college remains steadfast in its commitment to promote communal harmony, unity, brotherhood and mutual respect in the society.
