Course Description: 

Students will develop essential social studies skills as outlined in the AERO Standards, while exploring the period from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. Students will focus on key historical events and themes such as the Renaissance and its impact on the Western World, the discovery of the Americas and the Columbian Exchange, the Reformation, the Ottoman Empire, European Absolutism, the Enlightenment, and the Scientific Revolution. Throughout this course, students will improve their critical thinking, research, and analysis skills, including source analysis and essay writing.
