Course Description:
PE 11 will provide the knowledge, understanding, and skills that allow learners to gain more in-depth experience of the sport sector. Included in this course are: Anatomy and Physiology, which covers understanding the body systems and how they relate to physical fitness and wellbeing; Fitness Training and Programming, where they will be developing fitness programs specific to their chosen sport; and Sports Leadership during their practical sports performance with choices such as badminton, movement, tennis, athletics, basketball, soccer, rugby, and volleyball. As we aim to prepare our students for further education, we have included research methods in sport, which will cover an introduction to research, the importance of research, factors affecting the quality of research, and the different methods used in sport-based research. The world is changing, and so are our career choices. To prepare students to be successful in a 21st century global economy,we will be investigating business opportunities in the sports industry.
