Dear IICS Parents,

We shared on Thursday, March 7th, the tuition fees for the school year 2024-25 with our parent community. We have received feedback that some of our parents did not receive the communication or that they could not access the individual or corporate links. Therefore, please find below the communication that we shared with our families yesterday. The tuition fee structure is also available on our website under Admissions.

The WHO (World Health Organization) recommends individuals to consume less than 5g (just under a teaspoon) of salt per day.

Most people consume twice the recommended maximum level of intake. The biggest sources of hidden salt are typically found in bread, pizza, cold cuts, cheese, snack foods, sauces, condiments and dressings.

Since 2022,a Food Committee, we took the decision to reduce the amount of salt used in the foods ICS serves and we continued with same approach 2023/2024.

This approach allows the individual to adjust the saltiness of their meal to individual preferences. Our school embraces 60+ nationalities, each cuisine is different and uses different amounts of salt. For those, who are used to consuming more salty meals, extra salt (and other spices) are always available next to the salad bar at Marmara Campus. At Hisar Campus to shape the right eating habits among our youngest students, we do not offer extra salt. Science evidence shows that taste buds can adapt to a lower salt diet, some experts claim it can take as short as a week. Nevertheless, as a Food Committee, we regularly try the meals served and we make sure that despite the reduced salt they still taste flavorful by adding more healthy herbs for example.

Yours,

Food Committee
