Conversations about Recent Current World Events

No doubt we have all been impacted to some degree by the recent escalating conflict in Israel and Gaza. The effects are far-reaching, with images of the war being broadcast on TV and shared on social media. It's likely many of your kids have been following these events or have overheard conversations and are curious about the cause and impacts this war may have both globally and locally. Read more..

CELEBRATIONS

Dear parents, we will be sharing with you our students' success stories outside our walls here in this corner. Please send any story to Ms. Figen Underdown (fengin@iics.k12.tr) by Thursday each week so that we could share with the community about your child regardless of age.

Secondary Grade Trip and Awards Celebrations

We were delighted to see our students share their memories and experiences of their class trips and to recognise the hard work and achievements of our students in the final semester of 2022-23.

This also included recognition of the 100% pass rate, IICS continues to achieve for the MYP Personal Project. Honour Roll and High Honour Roll students were given IICS Certificates in recognition of their achievements. Personal Project students were awarded certificates from the IBO.

Well done to the Secondary School students. Keep up the hard work!

Please see here the videos of the Class Trips and the Honour Roll presentations.

School lunch menu with Salmon fish

 Food Committee

Happy to announce that once per month our menu will be enriched with salmon for elder students and better quality fish fingers for younger kids ( EY to year 3) from the Hisar & Marmara campus. This was decided in order to avoid the risk of fish bones.

 Why salmon?

-Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for healthy growth.

-The NHS and FDA recommend including at least 2 portions of fish a week, one of which is a fatty fish like salmon.

-Studies show that omega-3 consumption corresponds with deeper and better sleep and improves cognitive development and school performance.
