General

Assisting production operatives with the fabrication of aluminium Windows, doors and curtain wall.

Including the sorting of material.

labelling and identification of material.

Assembling frames and the fitting of window and door hardware including stays, Handles etc.

Good understanding of verbal and written instructions

Be able to read/understand metric measuring.

Good manual dexterity.


Preparing and Assembly

Apprentices will learn to receive material from stock and check to assembly lists.

Apprentices will learn to read Fabrication manuals.

Apprentices will learn to mark out and label material ready for preparation.

Apprentices will learn to prepare material ready for machining.

Apprentices will learn to assemble frames using window crimping machines and manually with pins.

Apprentices will learn to fit hardware to frames using hand tools and complete finished product.

Reading of Drawings and Assembly sheets

Apprentices will learn to read elevation and detail drawings.

Apprentices will learn how read and use assembly lists.


Machines and Tools

Apprentices will learn to operate the following;

CNC machine.

Double Headed saw.

Vertical Router.

Cross cut saw.

Pillar drill.

Various punch tools.

Window Crimper.

Notching Saw.

Various hand tools.
