Start by analyzing the state of affairs relevant to your topic from 1776 to the present.
Trace the development of issues relevant to your topic in as many periods as possible.
Include 10 to 20 events total. Some topics will have more or less.
Identify Turning points that define new periods related to the topic.
Significant developments and events (i.e., supreme court cases, laws, amendments, executive orders, new inventions, conflicts, diplomacy, tariffs and taxes, etc.)
Include historical situation for each event.

Fun facts - try to find something interesting about an event, person, or development. Perhaps something is interesting in relation to where we are today on the issue versus where we were, for example.

Don't focus much on the timeline maker. Use your time to list the key events, people, conflicts, developments, etc. related to your topics. Remember to include Supreme Court cases, legislation, presidential policies, and other movements that relate to your topic.
Each event on the timeline should be chosen because of its significance to the topic. You will need to describe the event, include an image, and provide links to the resources you used.
