Music Makers

Project:

Build a functioning musical creation from used materials that uses Scratch programming and a MaKey MaKey board.*

Learning Targets:

  • Understand, respect, observe and follow SAFETY guidelines

  • understanding and connecting functioning electrical circuits

  • writing a Scratch program to trigger the electrical circuits

  • building a stable construction of cardboard and other materials

Approaches to Learning:

Materials:

  • laptop

  • MaKey MaKey or other creative construction kit

  • Scratch programming environment

  • USB cable (new MBP require your own USB adapter)

  • box cutters

  • hot glue gun

  • scissors

  • Alligator (crocodile) clips

  • jumper wires

  • cardboard

  • conductive materials:

    • aluminum foil

    • copper tape/wire

    • paper clips/binders/brads
