It’s been a big week at Harwood, and the excitement continues! From our magical Disney-themed pep rally to wins on the football field and some excellent volleyball matchups, our Blackhawks are shining in every arena. We’re also cheering on our 9th grade team as they play Southlake Carroll tonight. Good luck, Blackhawks/ Trojans! Next week brings even more opportunities. This Week’s Highlights

• Black & Blue Food Drive: It’s time for the Black and Blue Food Drive... Harwood's big competition against other schools to help feed families in our community! This isn’t just about school pride…it’s about making a difference. From now through October 3rd, bring in non-perishable food items or cash donations and turn them in to your second period class. Every can, every dollar counts toward helping those in need and showing that Blackhawks can rise to the challenge!

• Pep Rally: Our Disney-themed pep rally was a magical success, bringing together students and staff for a fun-filled celebration of school spirit! Check out the pictures below!

• 9th Grade Holocaust Field Trip: Our 9th graders will travel to Dallas to the Holocaust Museum next Thursday to learn how to be an upstander.  

• 9th Grade Band: Our 9th grade band members will play at Pennington this Friday with the band! 

• Class Color Day is coming for Homecoming in October! Although it's still a month away, shirts are now on sale for just $15, and the website closes on September 24th! 7th grade buys white, 8th grade buys orange, and 9th grade buys black. Order yours today at harwoodspirit.bigcartel.com! 

• Battle of the Bands- September 24th is Battle of the Bands at Pennington Field at 7pm.

Clubs in Action

**New Club: Harwood Dance Club

New club for all students.  Join in the fun at the HJH Dance Club and show off your skills in hip hop, locking, popping and more.  Learn new skills in step and cadence.  First informational meeting will be held in F100 on October 1st at 3:40-4:30.

**New Club: Creative Writing Club

For students who enjoy writing stories, poems, or anything creative. Join the Creative Writing Club! If interested, stop by Mr. Jones's room, H118, for a parent consent form. The first official meeting will be this Monday the 22nd, after school from 3:45-4:45. Don't miss your chance to share your creativity and meet other writers!
