From Boo Bash fun to football victories, Harwood Blackhawks made this week one to remember. Our halls were alive with Red Ribbon Week spirit, incredible performances in Alice and Through the Looking Glass, and proud moments celebrating our bowling Olympians and beginner band musicians.
Check out this week’s highlights, upcoming events, and how to join the fun... including tomorrow’s Orange & Black Day or $2 Costume Day. Tomorrow is early release at 12:30!
It has been a great week at Harwood.
Boo Bash- Our Band Hawks rocked the annual Boo Bash with music, laughter, and plenty of Halloween spirit! The event was filled with energy as students hit the dance floor with the DJ spinning favorite tracks all night. Costumes ranged from hilarious to spooky, with everyone bringing their A-game for the costume contest including our band directors dressed like Napoleon Dynamite!
Red Ribbon Week - Harwood showed up big this week with incredible energy and creativity during our Red Ribbon dress-up days. From twins and nerds to teachers swapping roles with students, the hallways were packed with spirit and laughter. Every day was a reminder of how strong our school community is when we come together for a purpose. Tomorrow, we’ll wrap up the week with Orange and Black Day or students can wear a costume for $2 to help support school activities. Let’s finish the week with the same Hawk pride and positivity that made this one so fun.
Bowling Athletes- We did a clap out for our amazing bowling Olympians who brought home gold yesterday!
Beginner Band Recitals- The beginning band are having recitals for the different sections of instrucments. It was a fun and informative night with several more coming up next week.
Alice and Through the Looking Glass- Our theatre program delivered an unforgettable experience last weekend with Alice and Through the Looking Glass. The stage came alive under the direction of our outstanding theatre director, Stephanie Campbell, whose vision and leadership made every scene shine. A highlight of the production was Ashleigh Moss’s incredible art installation.
8th A Team Football Recap- What a battle it was for the last game of the season! The Harwood Blackhawks and Bedford Broncos went head-to-head in a slugfest of a first half, with the score locked at 0-0. In the second half, both offenses came alive. The Blackhawks’ lone touchdown of the night came from Mason Parker, who found a beautiful alley opened up by the offensive line, led by Julian Castellanos.
Defensive standouts were Izaac Tukuafu and Jacob Simpson, while the MVP of the game was the DAWG himself — Tristan Grove.
The Blackhawks held strong and came out on top with a 10-6 victory! They finish the season with an impressive record of 8 wins and 1 loss, an improvement from last year’s 6-3 record.
Congratulations to all players for an outstanding season!
The coaching staff wants each of you to know we love you, we’re proud of you, and we believe in you.
