It has been an eventful week at Harwood with great student effort in Go Time/Homebase, exciting recognitions across campus, and stand-out track performances. There are important events ahead like the 9th Grade Banquet and upcoming award ceremonies. Thank you for your continued support—please take a moment to complete the parent feedback form and stay connected to all that’s happening at Harwood.
Have a great long weekend. Remember there is no school tomorrow or Monday.

Go Time/ Homebase
Today was PAJAMA DAY for those who earned it. During Go-Time/Homebase students earned daily signatures by showing effort and focus. To recognize this, students who showed completed signatures received a blue wristband for a pajama pass the following day. Students who left materials at home are still able to participate by bringing them to the front office in the morning to verify and receive a wristband.
Go-Time/Homebase STAAR intervention is off to a strong start. Students are engaged, groups are functioning as designed based on data, and materials are being used consistently to target skill gaps. The structure is allowing for focused support during the school day while maintaining clear accountability for completion and progress.

Courtyard at Lunch
The courtyard is currently being earned at lunch due to trash and shenannigans. We are allowing one grade level each day to be in the courtyard during lunch. The grade level with the least amount of tardies is being given the privelege. This week 8th grade has reigned supreme but tomorrow 7th grade earns their time.

It has been a great week at Harwood.
It has been a wonderful and eventful week at Harwood, filled with celebrations, recognition, and a little fun along the way!
Last Thursday, four of our outstanding Harwood staff members were recognized at the HEB ISD Extra Mile Celebration. We are especially proud to share that Mr. Norman was named HEB ISD Custodian of the Year, an honor that is incredibly well deserved! Mr. Norman truly goes above and beyond every day, and we are so grateful to have him as part of our Harwood family.
We also celebrated Paraprofessional Day on Wednesday. Our paraprofessionals play a vital role on our campus, providing daily support, care, and encouragement to both students and staff. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and we sincerely appreciate all that they do to make Harwood a better place.
In the spirit of April Fools’ Day, our students received a “special announcement” about a Flood Drill, where they were instructed to lift their feet and paddle to higher ground while watching for floating hall passes. It brought lots of smiles and laughter across campus! Adding to the fun, our staff also enjoyed a visit from a couple of adorable bunnies, giving everyone a moment to relax and recharge.
We are excited to recognize our April Students of the Month. These students consistently demonstrate outstanding character, leadership, and a commitment to learning. They represent the very best of Harwood, and we are so proud of their accomplishments:
Alexander Murphy – 7th Grade
Kourtnee Dukes – 7th Grade
Arlin Jones – 8th Grade
Sariyah Lewis – 8th Grade
Jadyn Alderson – 9th Grade
Evah Galindo – 9th Grade
Congratulations also to our Teachers of the Month, Ms. Moss (Art) and Ms. Raybuck (Math Teacher & Tennis Coach). This recognition is especially meaningful as it is voted on by students, many of whom shared how these teachers truly see and support them.
Finally, we are proud to recognize our Support Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Sadler, Principal’s Secretary.
Thank you to our entire Harwood community for your continued support. It is truly a great day to be a Hawk!
