Anti-bullying week was created to inform parents, students, and staff about bullying, how to recognize it, and ultimately how to prevent it. The week spanned from Monday, November 20th to Thursday, November 24th, and promoted inclusivity within the Blakelock community.
The Wellness Club, led by Mrs. Mowbray, in partnership with the Student Council, prepared several activities during a week-long event to help raise awareness.
On Monday, November 21, anti-bullying week began with Just Dance in the cafeteria. Just Dance is a virtual game where participants follow the dances on screen to stay active and enjoy themselves. Students had fun jamming to One Direction to start off the event.
Tuesday brought joy to all those that received “friend-o-grams.” These small gifts had kind messages and candy, free of charge. Students could choose to send a “friend-o-gram” to anyone.
Wednesday promoted inclusivity and community during the “Be Kind and Unwind” event. During lunch in the small gym, students were able to play board games, participate in contests, and watch a movie while spending time with their friends. Additionally, students could participate in Student Council's scavenger hunt by returning slips of paper with kind compliments in exchange for some candy.

Lastly, Thursday’s partner yoga was hosted by Ms. McAllan and Mrs. Telford in the studio theatre. Students were able to participate in a fun challenge with their friends while bonding over wellness and taking care of their mental and physical health.
Throughout the week students from all grades were able to connect and learn through activities and workshops. Anti-bullying week provides education and advocacy for students who have been bullied in the past and paves the way towards eliminating bullying for a positive future.
